Pantarhei Poster Award granted to
Prof Alessandra Graziottin

During the Estetrol (E4) Symposium at the 5th Amsterdam Menopause Symposium (AMS) on June 21, 2007, organised by Pantarhei Bioscience, the Pantarhei Poster Award of € 10,000 has been granted to Prof Alessandra Graziottin from Milan, Italy.

The independent committee in charge of nominating the winner of the award, chaired by the AMS Symposium chairman Prof Peter Kenemans from Amsterdam, recommended unanimously Prof Graziottin for the Award.

Prof Graziottin is the first author and lead investigator of a well designed large study presented at the AMS as poster, entitled: “Prevalence of hypoactive sexual desire disorder (HSDD) in surgically menopausal women in Western Europe: results from the Women's International Study of Health and Sexuality (WISHES) Study”. The study addresses the prevalence of HSDD and the relationship between low sexual desire and sexual activity or sexual partner relationship satisfaction among surgically menopausal women in four western European countries.
